Sixth grade students at Tabb Middle School (TMS) read Ghost Dog Secrets by Peg Kehret as an introduction to their Action for Animal Awareness project. The novel centers around a boy who wants to rescue a dog that is being abused, while his class at school focuses on helping dogs rescued from a puppy mill. TMS students were inspired to hold their own donation drive to benefit the Peninsula SPCA. They collected many supplies to help shelter animals including food, toys, and towels.
