The eighth grade students in the Queens Lake Middle School Global Studies classes became very concerned about Haiti, a ‘developing country’ which was devastated by the earthquake last month. Since the most immediate way to help is the donation of money, the students were in gear to collect money during the lunch shifts for a week. With everyone’s help, over $400 was collected and contributed to Carol Scott, the Executive Director of the York-Poquoson Red Cross, to be donated to Haiti.
