Magruder Teacher's Pledge Inspires Fundraising Drive

The morning announcements at Magruder Elementary School (MES) featured a unique segment on January 28, as a teacher had her head shaved. MES staff, students and parents have been raising money to support a kindergarten student undergoing treatment for leukemia. They held a Hats on for Gracie day in which students donated at least one dollar to wear a hat to school. Sandra Murawski, a kindergarten teacher, promised to have her head shaved if at least $500 was raised. Not only did the school meet her challenge, they raised more than $3,000!
