2016 Science Fair Winners Announced

More than 300 students participated in the annual York County School Division Science Fair this week. Guest judges representing local colleges, universities and businesses reviewed all projects before selecting the winners. First, second, and third place winners are invited to apply to participate in the regional Tidewater Science Fair held at Old Dominion University in March.

The fair also includes special awards sponsored by the Grafton Animal Hospital and Rebound Chiropractic, and a new award sponsored by the Yorktown Woman’s Club – Outstanding Woman in Science. Two recipients, Julia Skinner from Yorktown Middle School in the Junior Division and Binal Patel from Tabb High School in the Senior Division, each received an award of $125.

Congratulations to all students who participated in the fair and a sincere thank you to the science teachers who encouraged and guided students throughout the scientific process.
