Students Undertake Hour of Code

Posted On: Friday, December 11, 2015

Students across the York County School Division have been participating in the global Hour of Code events. At Coventry Elementary School, librarian Kim Harris led students in kindergarten through fifth grade in joining millions of students worldwide taking their first steps into the world of coding.

Hour of Code is meant to increase student exposure to coding and show students that anyone can code! Learning to code helps to nurture problem-solving skills, logical reasoning and creativity as well as prepare students for 21st century careers. Students were coding all week during their resource class with Harris and will continue to code throughout the year.
