Anti-Bullying Month Celebration

Posted On: Friday, October 30, 2015

Dare Elementary School (DES) ended a month of anti-bullying activities with a special Green Zone ceremony for the entire student body on Friday, October 30.

The Green Zone is a school wide coaching program created by the National Center for the Prevention of Community Violence (NCPCV), a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing violence by providing community based resources for all ages. The Green Zone provides school-wide language for all to use when appropriate behaviors are being shown and when they are not.

Principal Lindsey Caccavale introduced the school’s first Green Zone ambassadors, students who help mentor and support their fellow students. Students then planted red tulips in the front of the school for Anti-Bullying Awareness Month. The ceremony ended with the raising of a green flag on the flag pole to signify that DES is a Green Zone School.
