Governor Terry McAuliffe and the Board of Education announced that three York County School Division (YCSD) schools earned 2015 Virginia Index of Performance (VIP) awards for advanced learning and achievement. Coventry Elementary School earned the Board of Education Excellence Award, while Mt. Vernon Elementary School and Tabb Elementary School earned the Distinguished Achievement Award. The VIP award program recognizes schools and divisions that exceed minimum state and federal accountability standards and achieve excellence goals established by the governor and the board.
