Posted On: Friday, May 15, 2015

Congratulations to the 2015 York County School Division (YCSD) Employee Recognition Program recipients!

The Superintendent’s Award recognizes employees who have made a particularly meaningful contribution to the school and/or community. Christina Majka, a Tabb High School teacher, received the award in recognition of her dedication to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She was also recently recognized by the Virginia Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Karen Neal-Shafer, a first grade teacher at Waller Mill Elementary School, was honored with the Spirit of Education Award. This award recognizes employees who symbolize the essence of public education. She is known for going above and beyond for her students as well as her colleagues. From her collaborative and team approach to the personal connections she creates with both students and parents, her impact extends well beyond the classroom.
