Earth Science Classes Reuse Rather Than Recycle

Posted On: Friday, May 08, 2015
Mr. Howell's earth science classes at Tabb High School took a different approach to help the environment. As a third quarter project, items that were typically recycled were instead repurposed. Containers gathered from the cafeteria and empty water bottles from recycling bins were combined with chicken manure, compost and sand to create planting containers, which are essentially self-maintained. The class plans on auctioning the plants and containers to help raise funds for future science department projects.
