Posted On: Friday, May 08, 2015

The York County School Division is proud to announce that Tori Otstot, Bruton High School English teacher, has been selected as the division’s Teacher of the Year. Tori was one of three finalists for the honor and was surprised with the news by the Teacher of the Year prize patrol at a special faculty meeting.

The Teacher of the Year prize patrol, sponsored by TowneBank, included Superintendent Victor Shandor, School Board member Barbara Haywood, Chief Academic Officer Stephanie Guy, Chief Operations Officer Carl James, Chief Human Resources Officer Jim Carroll, Education Foundation Liaison Peggy Myatt, and Education Foundation board member and Vice President of TowneBank Sandra Allen.

As the division Teacher of the Year, Tori is now a candidate for the regional Teacher of the Year. One of the eight regional honorees will be named the state Teacher of the Year in the fall.
