Science Teacher of the Year Award

The Langley Chapter of the Air Force Association and the Virginia Air & Space Center have chosen to honor two YCSD educators for their work in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Yorktown Elementary School teacher Barbara Westlund was selected as the 2014-15 Science Teacher of the Year in the K-8 category and York River Academy teacher Veronica Warwick was selected as the second runner-up in the Grade 9-12 category.

The program aims to recognize classroom teachers for accomplishments and achievements in exciting K-12 students about STEM and preparing them to use and contribute to tomorrow’s technologies.
