Little Library Construction at SESPosted On: Friday, April 17, 2015 |
York County residents looking for a good read will soon be able to select books from one of several miniature libraries in the community. Third grade students at Seaford Elementary School (SES), with the help of students from New Horizons Regional Education Center and volunteers from Wayne Harbin Builders, Kitchen Designs, and parents designed and built "little free libraries." Materials were donated by community businesses including Kempsville Building Supply, Wayne Harbin Builders, Design Tech Inc. and the SES PTA. Each structure will initially be filled with a variety of books collected, recommended and even written by first, second and third grade SES students. Once the little libraries are installed in locations across the county, community members are welcome to take a book to read and bring back another book to share. Initial locations for the little libraries include Seaford Elementary School, Sommerville Community, the School Board Office on Dare Road and Ben & Jerry’s on Water Street. |
