YCSD Teachers of the Year Finalists Announced

York County School Division (YCSD) administrators and members of the York Foundation for Public Education shared exciting news with three teachers as they announced the finalists for the YCSD Teacher of the Year.

The Teacher of the Year prize patrol, sponsored by TowneBank, included Superintendent Victor Shandor, Chief Academic Officer Stephanie Guy, Education Foundation Liaison Peggy Myatt, and Education Foundation board member and Vice President of TowneBank Sandra Allen. The group surprised each of the teachers: Kathryn Burr, Tabb Elementary School; Andrea Mouton, Grafton Middle School; and Tori Otstot, Bruton High School.

The three finalists, one for each level, were chosen from among the nineteen teachers named as their individual school’s teacher of the year. A selection panel comprising teachers and school administrators will interview the finalists before selecting the division teacher of the year. The finalists and the school-based teachers of the year will be honored at the division’ employee recognition banquet in May.
