YCSD Odyssey of the Mind Champions

Five York County School Division (YCSD) teams took first place in the Peninsula Region Odyssey of the Mind competition on Saturday, March 28. In all, 12 of the 13 YCSD student teams placed in the top four in their respective problem categories and divisions. In addition, Mt. Vernon Elementary School won the Outstanding OMer award for humor in the long-term performance.

First Place:

Dare Elementary School (DES), Runaway Train Division I
Queens Lake Middle School (QLMS), Runaway Train Division II
Magruder Elementary School (MES), Experiencing Technical Difficulties Division I
Queens Lake Middle School (QLMS), Experiencing Technical Difficulties Division II
Waller Mill Elementary School (WMES), Silent Movie Division I

Second Place:

York High School (YHS), Runaway Train Division III
Tabb High School (THS), Pandora’s Box Division III

Third Place:

Mt. Vernon Elementary School (MVES), Pandora’s Box Division I
Grafton Middle School (GMS), Pandora’s Box Division II
Grafton High School (GHS), Silent Movie Division III

First place teams will compete at the state competition on Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Lorton, Virginia.
