Dark Side of the Internet Parent Seminars Rescheduled

Posted On: Thursday, March 19, 2015

New dates have been set for the Digital Safety parent seminars that were canceled due to winter weather last month. These seminars, hosted by the York County PTA and the York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office, are designed to help parents navigate the dilemmas presented by the digital world our kids inhabit. Each seminar will provide an overview of current digital threats to children (cyberbullying, online predators, oversharing, sexting, and sextortion) along with digital safety information.

Guest speakers and expert panelists include:

Rex Gray — NCIS Digital Forensic Examiner
Paula Barrows — FBI Special Agent
Ben Hahn — York-Poquoson Commonwealth's Attorney
York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office Investigators

Please join us at one of the following locations to learn and prepare to tackle issues that are facing our students and their parents.

Yorktown Middle School: Tuesday, March 24 at 6:30 p.m.
Tabb Middle School:
Wednesday, April 1 at 6:30 p.m.
Bruton High School
Tuesday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m.

Child care will be provided by the PTSA at each location.
