BMES Page Turners Promote Reading

Posted On: Friday, December 05, 2014

Page Turners, an after school club for fourth and fifth graders at Bethel Manor Elementary School (BMES), is working hard to create shelf talkers to promote books to all students in our school. Our Page Turners summarize favorite books, illustrate them, and include call numbers, so other students can quickly locate the books. Once their shelf talker is added to the shelf, that Page Turner adopts another shelf in the library.

Page Turners is also celebrating a love of books with 12 Days of Reading! Each day during the school’s morning show, a Page Turner introduces a favorite picture book, and draws a name of a Lucky Listener. Following announcements, Page Turners go to their Lucky Listener's classroom and share that book with another student.

We are building a community of readers, one book at a time!
