YHS Marching Band Top in the State!

York High School’s (YHS) band director, Mr. Richard Purvis, led the York High School Marching Band to superior excellence! The York Falcon Marching Band maintained their 2014 award-winning momentum, earning top honors as the 2014 Virginia State Champions at the USBands Virginia State Championship (Open Class) in Virginia Beach. The band captured Visual and Overall Effect Caption Awards during the competition. On November 15, the band will take their York High talent and pride to New Jersey, where they will compete at the USBands Open Class National Championships.
