A Great Welcome for Dr. Shandor

Posted On: Friday, September 12, 2014

York County School Division staff, students and parents had the chance to meet the division’s new superintendent the week of September 8. Dr. Victor Shandor kicked off his four-day visit by meeting the School Board Office staff and attending the monthly School Board Work Session. He then visited each of the 19 schools. His schedule also included meetings with various YCSD departments, members of the School Board and Board of Supervisors, as well as with the County Administrator. He was able to meet community members at a Kiwanis event and during two public receptions.

“This was a fantastic introduction to York County,” shared Dr. Shandor. “I met some extremely passionate people as I traveled the county. From a Master Electrician working to solve a school’s concern to the teachers in the classrooms, the enthusiasm and pride was evident.”

Dr. Shandor will return in early October as part of the transition process. “The School Board and division staff provided me with outstanding support throughout this week and I look forward to my October visit.”

We look forward to his official kickoff as superintendent in November!
