Middle Year Programme Talking Turkey

Posted On: Friday, January 22, 2010

Students in the Yorktown Middle School Middle Years Programme (MYP), an International Baccalaureate (IB) school, are using their letter-writing skills and history skills to communicate with MYP students at the Irmak School in Istanbul, Turkey. Students in both grades 6 and 7 gathered in Drew Maloney's MYP Humanities class to open the letters and respond to their peers across the “pond”. This project reinforces elements of the IB Learner Profile, encouraging students to be caring communicators, in addition to supporting the course curriculum.
