Student Artists Recognized

The Peninsula Fine Arts Center recognized 13 high school students, including three from the York County School Division (YCSD), for artworks exhibited in “Prefaces 2014” at an awards reception on May 4. “Prefaces 2014” includes artworks from students attending area high schools. Artist and PFAC instructor Lee Gerry Wertheimer served as juror for the show, selecting 131 artworks from 490 entries. The exhibition is on display until May 25.

Third Place: Rebekah Nettleton, Grafton High School, “Trapped,” clay
Fourth Place: Jordan Allen, Grafton High School, “Time,” clay
Honorable Mention: Amber Brown, Grafton High School, “Drawing the Rest,” digital manipulation
