Two YCSD Schools Listed Among Nations Best

Posted On: Friday, April 25, 2014

Two York County School Division (YCSD) high schools made U.S. News and World Report’s annual list of the nation’s best high schools. The report, released this week, analyzed more than 31,000 public high schools and eventually considered 19,411 for possible ranking. Tabb High School (THS) made the list ranked 464th nationally and 20th in Virginia, while Grafton High School (GHS) is ranked 628th in the nation and 24th in Virginia.

A three-step process was used to determine the final rankings. The first two steps used performance on state proficiency tests as the benchmarks. The third step assessed the degree to which schools prepare students for college-level work.
