To enhance mapping skills, first grade students created edible maps in class at Seaford Elementary School. The maps were made on a tortilla, with chocolate chips as mountains, a Hershey bar as the school building, blue icing as the pond, raisins as houses and broccoli as trees. Students made their maps on a board in whole groups and then placed the items on the tortilla using the directions of north, south, east and west.
