Yorktown Middle "Reads to Feed"

As part of Yorktown Middle School's annual Read Across America celebration, the English Department challenged students to read on behalf of Heifer International, a nonprofit organization that seeks to end world hunger. Students read from March 1 to March 22 and collected $2,298.80 through the Read to Feed program. They purchased two heifers, one water buffalo, three llama, one goat, one sheep, and an assortment of trees, bees, rabbits, chicks and ducks.
