Waller Mill Students Celebrate Read Across America

The annual Storybook Parade was held at Waller Mill Elementary on Friday, March 1, 2013. Students from Bruton High's band and York High's drama team accompanied the marchers and contributed to the morning celebration of book characters and reading.

Fun Friday events that celebrate reading at Waller Mill include: March 8 - Cat in the Hat Day (Students and staff wear animal hats and bring donations for the Humane Society); March 15 - Fox in Soxs Day (Students and staff wear crazy socks and bring a pair of new socks to donate to the Avalon Shelter); March 22 (Students and staff wear pajamas and bring a new or gently used book to share with a family in need); and March 29 - One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish Day (Students and staff wear Red and Blue and bring a canned food item for FISH). Fun Fridays not only celebrate children's literature but also encourage students to contribute to the community.
