Futurist David Houle highlights the innovative uses of technology for learning by the York County School Division in his recently published book, Entering the Shift Age. Houle identifies and explains the dynamics and forces that have shaped our world and will continue to reshape it for the next twenty years. Houle refers to York County’s Bring Your Own Technology initiative, private cloud infrastructure and online learning initiatives and relates them to the trends of global connectivity, anytime/anywhere/any device learning, and personalization. Houle’s praise of the York County School Division follows the recognition by Microsoft of our schools as among the most innovative in the nation, as well as the invitation to serve as a charter member of the national League of Innovative Schools.
