Grafton Middle School Art Students Get 'Into Character' with Clay MasksPosted On: Friday, January 11, 2013 |
Students in Karen Covington's Sculpture and Crafts class made masks out of clay and then decorated using paint, yarn, and other materials. The students learned about masks from around the world and their many uses such as disguise, protection, storytelling/getting "into character", and honoring our ancestors. Students spent two days creating and shaping the masks and one day decorating. |
