Born in
Hampton, VA, I didn't have to
travel far to find the college of my choice, the College of William and
Mary
where I earned a B.A. in English and also participated in athletics,
student
government, and sorority
life.
Later I pursued a M.S. degree from Old
Dominion University,
concentrating in English.
My professional career spans
six schools ranging from middle school to
college. As a beginning teacher, I taught
English in Hampton City Schools for ten years. I have taught English
9-12 in three of the four York
County high schools and
have also been an adjunct
teacher at Christopher
Newport University.
Each school has provided me with memorable experiences with colleagues,
students, and the community. I am excited
to be at York
High School
again, working with the International Baccalaureate Programme as its
coordinator since 2001 and teaching IB English 11!
