Mrs. Nierescher is a native of Richmond, Virginia.  After attending Longwood College for three years as an honor student, Mrs. Nierescher completed her senior year abroad
(+2 additional years) with the University of Maryland, the European Division, in Heidelberg, Germany.  Mrs. Nierescher received her BA  summa cum laude  in German & Secondary Education with a minor in Spanish from the University of Maryland.

             While living in Germany, Mrs. Nierescher worked and traveled extensively in Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, and England as a Tour Guide for Wolff Reisen Tours.  Prior to relocating on the Peninsula, Mrs. Nierescher lived in Omaha, Nebraska where she taught German, Spanish, and ESL for Metro Tech Community College.

            Mrs. Nierescher has been a foreign language teacher with the York County School Division since 1990.  She is the sponsor for the German Club at YHS and GHS, as well as the Virginia Beta Delta chapter of the German National Honor Society at YHS and GHS.  Mrs. Nierescher has been the teacher-chaperone for the Yorktown-Zweibruecken Exchange Program 4 times during her tenure with York County. 

Special interests and hobbies include traveling, walking/hiking, Volksmarching, reading, movies & theater, Golf and Bridge.
