I actually knew
from a very early time that I wanted to be a
teacher. I attended
college at
Virginia Tech. (GO
HOKIES!!!) I found that Political Science was my interest and
that I really
wanted to teach government at the high school level. I was one of
two women to graduate in the Political Science Department at Virginia
Tech.
I
began teaching at York High School in the Social Studies
Department in 1993. I
was so pleased to be able to teach at YHS, because I knew from having
two daughters graduate from here, that YHS was a great place to be. I have spent most of my extra curricular time
sponsoring the Senior Class. Though it
can be challenging and crazy during the fall and spring of the year, it
is
truly a fun and exciting activity. But
perhaps the most rewarding experience of my teaching career is seeing
the
success of the many students that have passed through my classroom door. I feel confident that the world and our
future will be in good hands.
