Ms. Barnett teaches English 9 and Freshman Seminar at York High School.  She is also the freshman class sponsor. She was born in Jamaica, W.I. and moved to NY when she was 12.  She resided in N.Y until she moved to Virginia in 2004. Ms. Barnett graduated with honors from Long Island University—C.W. Post Campus on Long Island, NY, with a major in English Education.  She also studied for a semester in London at British American College London.  She taught in New York City before moving to Virginia to teach at York High School.  Ms. Barnett is also a tutor at Huntington Learning Center in Newport News.
