Course Description:

TV-1 provides students with a clear concept of basic television/video production.  It is the first year course of a two-year program, although seniors may take it on a space available basis.  On a block schedule, the class runs one full period a day, 5 days a week.  It involves self-directed learning with expensive equipment.  Students are from different grade levels and various schools.

Course Requirements:

Students will conform to traditional behavior requirements.  They will make use of technology.  Students will meet deadlines and work individually as well as in teams.  They may work on programs for TV-47 and YCSD.  Students will show maturity and professionalism in all video production work.

 

Attendance Policy:

To comply with Virginia State Law, students are expected to attend school every day and to be on time unless there is illness or death in the immediate family.

Non-video work is due at stated due date with a 10%-per-day grade penalty for each day past the deadline work is turned in.

 

Video work is due at stated deadline.  Video work may be turned in one day late with 20% penalty, two days late with 40% penalty, three days late with a 50% grade penalty.  Video work will receive a zero grade if turned in more than 3 days past deadline.
