York Foundation for Public Education, Inc.

The York Foundation for Public Education, Inc. is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, tax-exempt organization established in 1994 by local volunteers for the purpose of strengthening the public schools in York County. Our community is fortunate to have one of the finest education systems serving its children. The historic support for this system among its private and corporate citizens and its public officials has been long-standing and significant.

About YFPE


Mission Statement

The York Foundation for Public Education, Inc. (YFPE, Inc.) supports public education in York County by developing resources to encourage educational innovation, promote and recognize excellence, and address the needs of students, faculty and staff of the York County School Division.

The York Foundation for Public Education, Inc. serves collaboratively with business and community members as an independent 501 (c) (3) organization.


Goals

This Foundation serves to channel and further expand the resources of the citizenry and business sector to the school division. The goals and objectives adopted by this Foundation require collaborative effort of individuals, families, and businesses. The York Foundation for Public Education, Inc. commits to the development of programs and support roles in four areas:

1. Innovation, Improvement & Achievement
The YFPE, Inc. will increase the value of grants awarded that support innovation, improvement and achievement to help attain the goals and objectives of the YCSD strategic plan. Each year the YFPE, Inc. will increase grants awarded to support innovation, improvement and achievement by 3 percent as measured by financial reports.

2. Student Resource & Development
The YFPE, Inc. will increase the value of funds spent to support and recognize individual student achievement and development. Each year YFPE, Inc. will increase funds spent to recognize and support student achievement and development by 3 percent as measured by financial reports

3. Staff Scholarship & Recognition Programs
The YFPE, Inc. will increase the value of scholarships awarded that support staff professional learning. Each year YFPE, Inc. will increase scholarship disbursements by 3 percent as measured by financial reports.

4. Resource & Revenue Development
Each year, the YFPE, Inc. will work with community partners to increase the resources and revenue it develops in support of its mission.
