Spring has arrived and the scent of freshly cut grass is in the air. The change in seasons has also ushered in the start of activities such as baseball and softball for many of the children. For the students of Yorktown Elementary Math, Science & Technology Magnet School, April is certainly the seventh-inning stretch in relation to the school year. As we begin the fourth nine-week marking period, there are numerous activities on the horizon which will provide our students with meaningful and exciting learning opportunities as well as chances to show what they have learned throughout the year. Please remember to check your child’s agenda for upcoming classroom and grade-level events. In addition, you will continue to receive information regarding the school calendar via Y-Line, Connect-Ed, and flyers. The fourth nine-week marking period is also a time for students to renew their efforts related to achievement. During this time of year, students have the opportunity to utilize the study skills, organizational strategies, and work habits they have practiced throughout the year. As a parent, you can help by emphasizing high expectations, maintaining consistent communication with the teacher, and monitoring homework on a daily basis. With the seventh-inning stretch upon us, the staff of Yorktown Elementary Math, Science & Technology Magnet School remains committed to the success of each of our students. In addition, we look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with parents as we endeavor to provide our students with a world-class education and help them reach their full-potential. Thank you for your continued support. |
