Fourth Grade Biographies

Mrs. Lea Nerby
Welcome to Fourth grade! My name is Lea Nerby. I was born and raised in Northern Minnesota, just three hours south of the Canadian border. I received my Bachelor's degree from Gustavus Adolphus College. In 2003, I moved to Virginia to join my husband who works in the military. My favorite children's author is...almost all of them! My personal library includes over 1,400 children's books so I could never pick just one favorite. I enjoy reading books in all genres, spending time with my friends, fishing, hunting, playing with my dogs and playing the piano.

Mrs. Teresa O'Reilly
My name is Teresa O'Reilly. I call Georgia my home, truly home of the Atlanta Braves but I moved to Virginia (for the second time) in 2002. My favorite author is Gloria Houston, a native of North Carolina. I enjoy reading, antiquing, quilting and spending time with my family.

Mr. Jorj Head
My name is Jorj Head. I was born in Stuttgart, Germany We moved to Edgehill when I was six, and I attended first grade at YES. After graduating from York High a few years later,  I was  off to East Carolina University I graduated and still had no idea what I wanted to do. I found myself managing the Yorktown Pub for several years and enjoying the life of a bachelor. I finally met the love of my life, Christina, at the age of 28.  We got married and bought our first house in Seaford. I decided at that point to go back to school and get my teaching certification. I then taught fifth grade at Asbury Elementary in Hampton for nine years. I finally got tired of the drive, and I am now teaching fourth grade at YES. Christina and I have had three wonderful children. Our first daughter, Savannah, tragically passed away at the tender age of two. Our second daughter, McKenna is now six and attends first grade as SES. Our youngest is Hayden who is now three. Other than spending time with my family, I love hunting and fishing in the great outdoors.

Mrs. Kirsten McLeod
Hi, my name is Kirsten McLeod.  I grew up in Connecticut with my parents and my twin brother.  I went to the University of Richmond and traveled to Australia for 6 months to study abroad.  I also went to Tufts University in Boston to earn my Master’s Degree in elementary education.  I have taught fifth grade in Chesterfield and Williamsburg, Virginia.  I love all sports, especially William and Mary’s football team, because my husband is one of the coaches!
