At Yorktown Elementary Math, Science, and Technology Magnet School, we all strive with energy and enthusiasm to become lifelong learners. The staff accepts the ongoing challenge of educating the whole child by using developmentally appropriate practices. To accomplish our goals, we expect excellence, progress, open minds and hearts from staff, students, and parents.
YES Information
Yorktown Elementary Math, Science, and Technology Magnet School is a kindergarten through fifth grade elementary school and part of the York County, Virginia, public education system. We are located in historic Yorktown, Virginia, where the last battle of the American Revolution was fought. This area is a residential area in a greater area commonly referred to as Hampton Roads. Yorktown Elementary Math, Science, and Technology Magnet School has 500 students from the York   County Community.

New Preschool Program at Yorktown Elementary (VPI)
The York County VPI program is a family focused, language-based, preschool environment offering a wide variety of enriching activities in a nurturing, educational setting. This preschool program is designed to serve at-risk students who have reached their fourth birthday on or before September 30th and are not served by the York County Head Start program. Important Information for Parents
Prevention Comes First: Parent Guide to Personal Safety for Youth (click to view), is to educate parents about some of the potential safety threats children may face and to assist parents in communicating with their children about personal safety.

Congratulations to the Yorktown Elementary PTA for receiving the Model PTA Award for the 2007-2008 school year.

Family Literacy Night was a great time for all. YES students enjoy planting a tree.
