Group "In-Class" Project
Vietnam Board Game Contest
As a culminating activity for our Vietnam War unit, you will create a board game that summarizes the major historical events of this conflict. The objective is to create a fun board game to help your classmates review the events of Vietnam.
First, each member of the class will make 20 questions from all aspects of the Vietnam war. These will be graded individually for a quiz grade.
Second, you will join a group of 5-6 people to make a game. Print out a second copy of your typed questions, and as a group, decide on the best ones. Do not put in duplicate questions.
Third, decide what type of game you want to make. It will be a simple board game where people roll the dice and answer questions, depending upon which square they land on. You may add booby traps, money, items they will need to collect, or anything else to make your game fun to play.
Using your class time, make the game in your groups. If you come to class unprepared, you will be given an alternate assignment (yes, a graded worksheet).

Rules
Your group will be graded on the following. You will receive a classwork grade from your peers based on the quality of your game. Your teacher will evaluate you individually on your questions for a quiz grade. Your teacher will also select the best class game for a special prize.
Suggestions:
Use an existing board game for ideas, such as Monopoly, Life, Clue, Candyland, Chutes & Ladders, etc.
Print off pictures from the Internet to decorate your game, if you cannot draw well.
Do not handwrite anything. It looks sloppy.
Get the game done first. Then add your decorations, extra cards, or anything else.
