Peer Mediation at TES
 
Tabb Elementary has had a Peer Mediation Program for 12 years.  The mediators are fifth graders who have been selected by their classmates.  They are chosen for their ability to listen to others and leadership.
 





These mediators stay after school for training from Mrs. Brothers, the guidance counselor. After their training, they assist students who are experiencing unresolved disagreements with other students.    Generally, the students refer themselves for mediation, but may also be referred by teachers, administrators or parents. 

The Peer Mediation Program creates a more peaceful school environment by teaching students non-violent ways to handle conflict.
