Tabb Elementary School PTA

During the 2006-2007 school year, our volunteers contributed more than 9,000 hours of time to the students at Tabb Elementary.  With your help, we hope to exceed that number this year!  There are a variety of ways you can volunteer your time, talent, and resources at Tabb Elementary School.  Listed below are just a few of them!  If you are interested in volunteering for one of these committees, please contact Amy Nickol. 

2007 - 2008 TES Board Members

Art Room -Assists in the Art Room

Awards - Plans awards and picture taking sessions for the students (Projects include Terrific Tabb Tigers, Honor Roll, Bug Roll, Field Day, Perfect Attendance, etc.)

Beautification -Works to maintain and enhance the appearance of our school

Book Fair - Coordinates the biannual book fairs

Community Service –Plans and organizes charitable/community service events with the SCA, K-Kids, etc (Projects include Toys for Tots, Coats for Kids, Canned Food Drives for People and Pets, etc.)

Cultural Arts -Plans and coordinates assemblies and cultural programs for the students

Education & Legislation – Keeps the membership informed of School Board, County Board, and State Legislature activities affecting our children

Hands on Science -Works with 4^th & 5^th grade students in a monthly hands on lab - See the students in action

Hospitality -Coordinates volunteers to provide refreshments and gifts for TES Staff for special occasions

Library - Assists the in the Library reshelving books, reading to students, and/or assisting students in the library

Membership - Builds an informed and participating membership that understands what the PTA stands for and how it helps our children/school

Music - Assists the TES Music Teacher in the classroom, provides volunteers to help with performances (For instance helping put together programs for the performances, getting the kids in their chorus gowns, set decorations for the stage, etc).

PE - Assists the PE Teacher with Fitness Team, Jump Rope Club, Demo Team, Jump for Heart, Field Day, coordinating the purchase/sale of jump ropes and/or T-shirts for the clubs involved

Product Incentive Programs - Responsible for the coordination of all incentive programs at TES.  These programs include:  Box Tops, Campbell’s Labels, Farm Fresh Receipts, Food Lion MVP Shop & Share, Tyson’s Chicken, Cartridge Recycling, etc.

Reflections - Coordinates the Reflections competition, which is a National PTA sponsored program, also coordinates workshops for students to work on entries to promote 100% participation

School Store - Designs/sells spirit wear and school supplies to students before school two mornings per week (October – May).  Sells spirit wear at Kindergarten Open House, Back To School Night, Orientation, Carnival, General Membership Meetings as requested

Spell-a-thon -Coordinates with the teachers/students for this school wide fundraiser whereby students receive sponsors for correctly spelled words on a test

Yearbook - Responsible for producing the annual yearbook, including, taking pictures of faculty, clubs, etc., preparing the layout and entire design of the yearbook, negotiating pricing with companies to provide the yearbook, selling ads for the yearbook, presetting the yearbook. 

YCC TES Liaison - Attends all York County Council meetings and shares the information with the TES PTA board
