Frequently Asked Questions

What do I do when my child is absent?
Call the Attendance Secretary at 898-0373 prior to 9:00 a.m. to let her know why your child will be absent. There is an answering machine at this number for your convenience. Be sure to send a note to the teacher when your child returns following an absence.

What if my child is going home with a friend or on another bus?
All bus changes must be in writing from the parent. Instruct your child to bring a note of any bus change to the office at the beginning of the school day. If a child is going home with another student, both students' parents must send a note.

What if I want to pick up my child everyday?
There is a sign out book at the side entrance, closest to the cafeteria.  Parents must show positive ID before the students are release

Will my child be allowed to buy ice cream if I put a lump sum in his/her cafeteria account?
There are actually 3 accounts: breakfast account, lunch account and a la carte account. Unless we receive instructions from the parent, the entire amount is placed in the lunch account. You may pay in advance up to $99.99 per account. Please write on the check if you would like money deposited in the breakfast account, lunch account or the a la carte account for any extra items such as: ice cream, juice, extra milk, extra entrée, etc.

In order to eliminate confusion, Mrs. Irby, the cafeteria manager, requests that you list the student ID number and how much money is intended for each account.

How will I know my child's lunch account is low?
The cashier  gives the student a note with the number of lunches left in their account when the account gets low.  They will send reminders for a few days, until money has been deposited to the account.

Is there a dress code at TES?
Yes, the dress code is outlined in the Student Handbook, page 5.
