Who Can Become a Member?

Every person who joins the TES PTA will automatically become a member of both the VA and National PTAs. Membership is open to anyone who believes in the Mission and Purposes of National Parent Teacher Association. This includes parents, grandparents, guardians, friends, teachers, and neighbors. Members may belong to any number of PTAs and pay dues in each. Together we are a powerful voice for children.

Today, more than ever, our schools are challenged to provide every child with the best education possible. Budgets are tight while government requirements are growing. Schools are expected to do more with less.

According to the National PTA, more than 30 years of research has proven that children do better when their parents are involved both at home and in school. Grades are better. Test scores rise. Self-esteem grows. Schools improve.

What does the TES PTA do?

PTA funds and volunteers support many educational enrichment, cultural art, community outreach, and social activities for the school. The money raised by the PTA is used to purchase books, equipment, supplies, student awards, and enhancements for the school. The executive board meets monthly and members include the Principal, Assistant Principal and teachers.

How can I get involved?

At a minimum, become a member of the PTA! It only costs $5.00, it boosts our membership percentage, and shows how strong the parent involvement is at TES.
