Together Everyone Succeeds at Tabb Elementary School…

Summer vacation will be here before we know it!  Thanks again for all of your support for the PTA this year.  As parents of elementary age children, it is often difficult to juggle so much and we are pulled in many directions…but so many of you have found ways to help make a difference at our school.    Your time and financial contributions truly enhance every student’s education at TES.

The goal of the PTA Executive Board this year has been to carefully evaluate the way we spend all monies and focus mainly on enhancing education and limit fundraising.  With the exception of the carnival, all family night events have been at no additional cost to parents.  We have had positive feedback concerning many of the new events we introduced this year including The Magic of Nutrition, Hands on Science Night, and Pancakes for Pops. Finally, the PTA initiative of obtaining a $3,500 Lowes Toolbox Grant and additional PTA funding support will allow our school to develop an outside classroom and Junior Master Gardener Program.  Our new Learning Garden will truly be a wonderful addition and fun alternative to allow students to “grow”.

If you have suggestions, feedback, or would like to find a way to get more involved with the PTA next year, please give me a call or email.  We will be working on the lineup for the PTA Executive Board for the 2008-09 school year.  Positions are available, and if you feel this is your calling, please let us know.  We would be thrilled to see some new faces with fresh ideas come on board!
