Policies
Homework Policy
- Students
are required to record homework assignments for each subject in their
agenda. If no homework is assigned,
then the student should write “None.”
The agenda is provided by the school, and should be kept in a three-ring
binder. If the agenda is lost,
another may be purchased at the GMS front office.
- Students
should record enough detail in the appropriate space in their agenda.
- Students
are expected to keep track of long-term assignments/projects.
- Parents
are encouraged to review assignments daily.
- Homework
is due on the following day, unless otherwise stated.
- Homework
constitutes 10% of the cumulative grade each quarter (see further
information in the class syllabus).
Absence from
School
- Calls
and notes for absence are handled through the front office, prior to or on
the day of the absence.
- If
your child will be out for an extended period please request assignments
through the front office in advance of the absence.
- If a
student was present on the day homework was assigned but absent on the due
date, the student is expected to bring that assignment on the day that
they return.
- When
absent it is the responsibility of the student to make up missed classwork, homework, quizzes, and or tests. The student will receive one day for
each day absent to make up work.
- A
student may be asked to stay after school to make up missed
assignments.
- Any
student who was absent on the day of the test, but was in school the day
before the test or when it was assigned must take the test upon returning
to school. I strongly encourage the
student to take any make-up test after school, rather than during
school. This way, the student
doesn’t miss new material, and fall behind.
