My favorite quote I like to share with Middle School age
students is:”30 years from now, it won’t matter what shoes you wore, how your
hair looked, or the jeans you bought.
What will matter is what you learned and how you used it.” The poster with this inscription hangs in my
room and it is a constant reminder that learning should always be a focus in
our lives. Without it, what else would
matter?
The past several years I’ve spent learning the various
facets of middle school age students. I
am a Journalism Major from Auburn University
who has recently returned to school to earn the qualifications to become a
middle school teacher in the areas of English and History. I’m extremely excited about being in the
classroom on a full-time basis as the last 8 years I have been substitute
teaching; tending many long-term classrooms.
I am married with 2 children. My husband is in the military
and my oldest child is at The University of Virginia and my youngest child
attends Grafton High
School.
Our family has lived in various states to include: Georgia,
North Carolina, South
Carolina, New Jersey,
Kansas, Hawaii
and Virginia.
My teaching philosophy is the belief that every child has
the ability to learn and it is my job as
a teacher to find the most suitable mode of learning while providing a safe and
encouraging atmosphere for all students.
It is with great anticipation and
excitement that I accept each year's new minds and teach them the write better and read with more vigor.
Please feel free to contact me about any quesitons you might have about the learning occurring in my classroom.
