Classroom Expectations
All GHS rules will be enforced in this classroom. Please refer to the Student Handbook.
1.
Food
and beverages will be enjoyed outside
of the classroom. (Water in a sealable
plastic bottle is permissible)
2.
Students
should be in their seats with all required materials when the bell rings. (The tardy policy will be enforced)
3.
Listen
while peers and the teacher are talking.
4.
Participate!
5.
Students
are expected to be courteous and respectful to the teacher and classmates.
6.
Cheating
will not be tolerated. Students who are caught cheating will receive
a ‘0’ on the assignment/test and will be referred to GHS administration.
Grading Policies:
Grades
will be assigned using a point system. Each assignment, quiz, or test will be
worth a certain number of points. This
system allows students to keep records of their own grades as the year
progresses. For example, a student might earn 287 out of 300 possible points in
a semester. His or her grade would
equate to 96%. (287/300 = .96)
The GHS
grading policy is as follows:
A=92-100 D=67-74
B=84-91 F=0-66
C=75-83
Missed Work
1.
Work
assigned before an absence is due the day the student comes back to
school.
2.
If
the student has a prearranged or school sponsored absence, the student is
required to get missed work from the teacher prior to the absence. It is
due the day the student returns to school.
3.
Students
who miss a class will collaborate with their class partner to receive the
make-up work and notes. Extra worksheets
and notes will be in the class absentee folder.
4.
Students
who do not have an excused absence will not
be allowed to make-up missed assignments.
5.
It
is the student’s responsibility to get missed work. It is not the job of the teacher.
Tardy Policy
I
strictly enforce the tardy policy in my classroom. If a student is tardy in the class, the
following steps will be taken:
1st offense: Teacher and
student conference
2nd offense: Teacher
contacts the parents
3rd offense: Student is
referred to the administration
Contacting the Teacher:
I strive to make myself as reasonably accessible as
possible. Please feel free to contact me
