English 10 & English 10 Advanced
Although this is my first year at
Grafton High School, this is not my first experience with the York
County School Division. I grew up in Tidewater, graduating from
Menchville just a brief time before GHS opened its doors. After
high school, I majored in English Language and Literature, with a
specialization in Modern Studies, at the University of Virginia.
Then, I returned to Tidewater and completed a Master's Degree at the
College of William and Mary. After finishing my degree, I went to
teach for a year in a very urban school in Charlotte, North
Carolina. After that year, I returned to Tidewater (again) and
began teaching at Tabb High School. After three years there, I
moved to Alexandria, VA, and taught for a year there. Following
that school year, I came back to Tidewater (are we seeing a trend
here?). Now, my wife (who teaches English at YHS) and our Bernese
Mountain Dog, Jake, and I are settled in here in Yorktown and hoping to
remain for a while!
