About Lori Andersen |
Lori Andersen earned her Bachelor of Science in Physics degree in 1988 from Long Island University in Greenvale, New York. She then embarked on a 13 year career as an officer in the U.S. Navy. Part of her time in the Navy was spent teaching at Naval Nuclear Power School in Orlando, Florida.
When Ms. Andersen left active duty in 1996, she was already working on her Master's of Science in Education degree. In December 1997, she earned an MSEd from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. She has taught in various schools in Virginia, teaching all levels of Physics. Ms. Andersen has completed many more college courses after completing her Masters, including graduate coursework in Physics, Gifted Education and Web Publishing. Her teaching talents have been recognized by awards such as the RadioShack National Teaching Award in 2003.
Currently, Ms. Andersen lives in Gloucester, Virginia with her husband Staley and her four children: Levi, Matyas, Jordan and Jennifer. Her hobbies include: stained glass work, biking, fooling around on the piano and singing, doing stuff with her kids and building this website.
