Video
Analysis Project – Physics is Math in Motion!
Your
project is to:
1. Select or create a short video clip
of motion.
2. Analyze the movie clip in LoggerPro 3.5
3. Create a PowerPoint that will be
used to share your project with a math analysis class.
The Powerpoint presentation will contain:
1. Title Slide
2. Embedded video clip
3. A screen shot of the analysis of the
video using LoggerPro 3.5 that shows data and has
properly labeled axes, but no curve fit.
4. A screen shot with the same graph as
in #3, but with the curve fit.
5. Three slides that discuss the
physical meaning of the coefficients of the equation and/or important features
of the graph (vertex, max/min, zeroes, etc).
For each feature, show a screenshot of the video frame that represents
it.
You can
analyze your video in the physics lab or at home. CDs with LoggerPro
3.5 and a library of videos can be checked out from Ms. Andersen or copied onto
a flash drive from the Y:/ drive. Or LoggerPro 3.4
demo can be downloaded from www.vernier.com.
This
project will count as a test grade.
