Creating a
scatterplot on a TI-83.
Press STAT, Select EDIT.
Enter X values in List 1 and Y values in List 2.
Press WINDOW.
Assign appropriate values to x min, x max, y min and y max.
Press 2nd STAT PLOT.
Select 1, On, Scatterplot.
Make sure Xlist is L1 and Ylist is L2.
Press GRAPH.
If you get another graph on your plot, make sure your y= screen is
cleared.
Getting the equation
for the line of best fit on a scatterplot.
Press STAT, Select CALC, Select LinReg (ax+b), ENTER
This will display the equation of the best fit line on the screen.
To graph the best fit
line.
Press Y=
Enter the equation obtained above.
Press graph.
