They will be graded and count 25% of the student’s grade. Quizzes can be announced or unannounced and will count for 25% of the student’s grade. Tests will always be announced and count 50% of the student’s grade. The student’s notebook will count the same as test grades. Grading is based on the percentage a student earns on each assignment and follows the York County grading scale. Make-up Work: If a student is absent for one day, it is their responsibility, when they return, to meet with me to obtain their assignments and have them completed before the next class meeting. For students who miss more than one day, they will have equal time to make up the missed work. Appointments must be made to make up missed quizzes and tests. Any work that is not made up after two weeks will be counted as zero (0)! Special circumstances will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Late Work: All work assigned, including late work, must be turned in. If you are foreseeing a problem, discuss it with me before the work is due. Points will be subtracted for late work. Materials: 1. Five star spiral notebook – 3 to 5 subject (approx. 200 pages) 2. Textbook 3. Writing utensils – pens, pencils, markers, colored pencils 4. Glue Sticks 5. Highlighter 6. Agenda Class Conduct: As in all civil societies, we must have rules by which we live. Those who choose not to follow the rules will deal with the consequences. The rules are: 1. Be Ready Early – be on time to class arriving with all materials and assignments that are due. This includes being in your seat and ready to learn. 2. Be respectful of each other and yourself. 3. Teamwork Counts – work cooperatively with your lab partner and fellow students. 4. Hall passes will be issued on an emergency basis. 5. Follow all directions and observe all rules in the student handbook. Note: The teacher reserves the right to alter the schedule, rules, and anything else that needs change. I have read, do understand, and agree to follow the rules and procedures as stated above. Student Signature Date Parent or Guardian Signature Date
