During the coming year you will learn to understand, speak, read, and write German in a variety of situations. You will also learn more about the German-speaking world outside of your classroom: daily life, customs, traditions, music, art, literature, and history.

Learning German-or any foreign language-is like learning to play a musical instrument. You have to practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in order to make progress. Practice a little every day. Several short periods are more effective than one long, last-minute cramming session.

I invite each and every one of you to become active in our German Club this year. We will meet once a month for authentic German movies or games, culture, and cuisine...
